

CUSTOMS TODAY IS IN 2036 AHEAD OF TIME IN TERMS OF MODERNIZATION; ACG EDIKE EULOGIZES THE CGC AT LEAGUE OF MARITIME EDITORS’ AGM IN LAGOS

At today’s league of Maritime Editors ‘Annual general meeting (AGM) , Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Edike has said the Customs today under Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD is 10 years ahead of time.
According to him, the service has embraced a futuristic modernization that can stand the test of time in 2036, even though we are in 2026.


He fingered the digitization of the service as well as its trade facilitation efforts which have been graciously acknowledged by the World Customs Organization (WCO)
‘In terms of modernization, development and achieving its mandates in the maritime industry, everyone can go to sleep’

According to him, the Customs service’s export command at Lilypond has assisted in boosting the economic development of the country, noting that the Customs is in the forefront in maritime development.
