A new Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, in the person of Muhammad Aminu Tako has been appointed by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD. He will hold sway as the zonal Co-odinator for zone B, Kaduna.
Until last week Friday, Tako was the Area Controller of the Adamawa/Taraba customs command where he gave economic saboteurs a bloody nose, making seizures in the last nine months running into hundreds of millions of naira.
ACG Tako, an enforcement expert has worked in major operations units nationwide during his tour of duty.
He also served at the Customs and Staff college in Gwagwalada, Abuja from where he was streamed to Yola where he discharged his duties creditably. In his place, another enforcement expert, Deputy Comptroller Ali Mamman has been appointed as the acting Area Controller for the Adamawa/Taraba command.

Ali Mamman was the Commander of the Operation Whirlwind, an ad hoc wing of the Customs policing petroleum smuggling with strong supervision by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
He is reputed and honoured as an anti-corruption figure, having been given a clean bill of not hobnobbing with petrol smugglers in their bid to ferry PMS through the various illegal entry points in the north east.
The new Area Controller has spent more than a decade as an official of the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU) where he cut his teeth as an intelligence officer. With his appointment, he will no doubt raise the bar in representing the service in the North East.

In the same vein, Deputy Comptroller Tsigi Bello has emerged as the new National Co-ordinator of the Operation Whirlwind Team. He replaces Abubakar Lucky Aliyu.
The Operation Whirlwind has been going through restructuring for some time now since its inception. Bello was previously of the Whirlwind during the tenure of ACG Ejibunu.
He was the Commander in Zone A Lagos, before he was redeployed to Abuja. It was from Abuja he was again sent to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport as officer in charge of revenue. Again he was lately moved to Kano to head the revenue department.

Deputy Comptroller Bello is highly disciplined, loyal and has zero tolerance for corruption. All the appointments take immediate effect.
Bello has his qualification LL.B,LL.M,BL Fdfs (Fellow Documents Forensic Signature), Alumi of University Of Maiduguri and University of Ilorin.
