Coming from the background of a thorough-bred officer, and an iconic Public Relations giant, the Comptroller General segmented his workload, engaging in programmes that will shore up the reputation of the Customs Service as one of the prime revenue agencies.
Consequently, the revenue continued to skyrocket into several trillions of naira.
Its war on smuggling has been total through the geospatial system, bringing with it billions of naira worth of interceptions of dangerous hard drugs, arms and ammunition, as well as other contraband.
The operation against petroleum products smuggling has assisted in no small measure in stabilizing the nation’s economy.
His inter-agency collaboration, the Service’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has brought the Service closer to communities nationwide, like never before.
Trade facilitation remains a badge of honour now. These are signs of great leadership ready to deliver right from the onset.
Looking ahead, the Service will be placed on auto-pilot, following the tenure extension granted by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
