Controller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) zone ‘C’ Owerri, Compt BA Balogun says promotion in the Customs Service is not a routine exercise but a reward for hardwork.

‘For those being decorated today, this recognition is a call to higher performance, integrity and leadership’. Congratulating the beneficiaries, on behalf of the Comptroller General and the management, he charged them to see it as a privilege and a challenge.

Compt Balogun told the 67 officers promoted as well as those yet be elevated that the Federal Operations Unit remains a critical arm of the Service, noting that the nation expects the workforce to continue strengthening anti-smuggling operations, revenue recovery and trade facilitation. ‘You must therefore, uphold the core values of the Nigeria customs service- integrity, transparency and professionalism’
The Controller commended the Comptroller General and his management for their continued support and for ensuring that hardwork and merit are duly rewarded.
‘ I also appreciate the families, friends and colleagues of the newly promoted officers whose encouragement and sacrifices have contributed to today’s success.
