CG-ADENIYI’S TENURE EXTENSION WELL DESERVED; HE REMAINS A DETRIBALISED NIGERIAN—COMPT ONYEKA
The Area controller of Tin Can Island customs command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka has thumbed up the recent tenure extension for the Comptroller General of the customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR by His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a congratulatory message, he said the action of the president was well deserved, describing the Comptroller General as a detribalised Nigerian.
He also fingered the various reforms introduced by the Comptroller General as unprecedented in the history of the Service.
The reforms, he pointed out include but not limited to the continued modernization of the service, the implementation of the National single window project, as well as the ongoing execution of Nigeria’s obligations under the African Continental Free Trade Agreements (AFCFTA) protocol.
Compt Onyeka deposed that it was consequent on these grounds that the government found him worthy to be able to consolidate on such huge reform projects which are integral and critical initiatives of the present government.
The CG’s tenure extension, he noted, was no doubt in recognition of transparent leadership, unwavering commitment to excellence as well as outstanding contributions to the growth and transformation of the customs service.
‘Your dedication to duty and visionary reforms have continued to inspire confidence and professionalism within the service and beyond.
It was consequent on this that you were unanimously elected the Chairperson of the Council of the World Customs Organization (WCO).’
Compt Onyeka assured the Comptroller General that the officers and men of the Tin Can Island command are proud of his accomplishments and will remain steadfast in their support as he continues to lead with integrity, innovation and patriotism.
The Tin Can command workforce wished the Comptroller General continued success, good health and divine guidance in this renewed chapter of his distinguished service to the nation.
