CUSTOMS CG CONSTITUTES 138- MAN TASK FORCE TO TAME ILLEGAL OIL BUNKERING

A 138–man Task force to fight the menace of oil bunkering in the country has been constituted by the Comptroller General of the Nigeria customs service (NCS) Adewale Adeniyi, MFR

A circular marked HQ/002/2024 endorsed by the Assistant Comptroller General ACG (HQ), Barrister O.A Alajogun,fsi stated ‘this is part of the efforts by the customs service to ensure that petroleum products meant for the consumption of Nigerians are not smuggled out of the country’

Alajogun said the Comptroller General of Customs constituted the Special Task Force to completely stop the illegal exportation of petroleum products, thereby ensuring adequate availability within the country’

The concerned officers who have been drafted to the Task force are to report to the TRADOC tomorrow for a 3-day training on the operations.

All Deputy Comptrollers General, Assistant Comptrollers General, Customs Area Controllers, as well as all the Federal Operations Units have been alerted of this development and advised to comply with it without fail.

For effective delivery, four units were created; They are the Operations unit, the ICT unit, the Secretariat and the Transport unit.
