Sokoto/Zamfara Command Releases 15 Detained Trucks of Grain in Compliance with Presidential Directive

In compliance to Presidential directive, the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service released Fifteen (15) Trucks of Grain under its custody to their owners.

Comptroller Kamal Mohammed mni while handing over the Fifteen (15) Trucks of Grain at the Command Headquarters Sokoto charged the Traders to reciprocate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Magnanimity by ensuring that the Grains are sold to Nigerian markets.

Controller Kamal further said the Command in collaboration with Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU) and the Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) will monitor the sales of these Grains in Nigeria Markets and ensure they are not smuggled out of the Country.

He further enlightened Traders and the General Public that Grains and its derivatives are under the extant Export Prohibition list.

The Comptroller warned smugglers to desist from their dastardly act as the Management of the Nigeria Customs Service under the leadership of Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR in their resolve to fight smuggling in all ramification has added to the patrol fleet of the Command, this will go a long way in making the Border unsafe heaven for smugglers unpatriotic penchant to make money at the detriment of the Country.

In response, the Secretary of the Grain sellers Association of Sokoto Alh. Dahiru Ladan on behalf of the Union thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for tempering justice with mercy and assured that the Union will ensure the grains are sold to Nigerian markets.
