

TOP CUSTOMS ECHELON; INDUSTRY OPERATORS POUR ENCOMIUMS FOR RETIRING ACG DANIYAN


Top echelon workforce of the Customs service and industry operators today paid glowing tributes to their beloved retiring Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Tenny Mankini Daniyan. Speaker after speaker spoke about the quality attributes of the persona of Daniyan, describing him as a ‘reliable officer; honest and transparent’
His boss at the PTML then, now Deputy Comptroller General Okun said at the time he was the Customs Area Controller, Daniyan was his Deputy Comptroller in charge of revenue.
According to him, with him as the Officer in chat of revenue, you can go to sleep as his(Daniyan’s) bolstered the revenue of the command which he labelled as ‘the most difficult command to run’
He was excited that the retiring ACG went far in career advancement, noting that retirement is what everyone looks forward to.


In a co-ordinated tribute, DCG Adeola who represented the Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD, MFR, stated that Daniyan, his squad mate was a God-fearing officer. She noted that the ACG was so diligent in his responsibilities and represented the service exceptionally well in any assignment given to him.
DCG Adeola was not surprised that he kept faith, noting that even in his chosen profession-architecture, he will excel in the years ahead. The duo prayed that Daniyan will not retire to sickness neither will he see death.
Other notable speakers who eulogized ACG Daniyan include the Comptrollers of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) zone A and that of the Murtala International Airport, Comptrollers Gambo Aliyu and Nwokorie, who extolled the excellent virtues of ACG Daniyan.


Gambo Aliyu stated that Daniyan remained a good mentor and mentee. He deposed that the retiring ACG was one that should be celebrated often to shine the light on good qualities of a good leader to the upcoming officers.
Nwokorie whose tributes sounded more of a student of Classics said even though they are squad mates, ‘with his rise as an ACG, whenever I salute him, he would instead shake me first’ not minding his seniority.
He said whatever best you have seen in the Customs will be the worst you will see outside, meaning his later days shall be greater than the former.

Some of his subordinates at the PTML led by Deputy Comptroller Ramatu Musa said Daniyan was very respectful, patient and committed to the service. According to them, he exhibited love to all during his stewardship at the command.
They wished him well in his future endeavours.
Chairman of ANLCA at the PTML described Daniyan as a man you can trust, a wonderful man, a competent Comptroller. He recalled that when they introduced the B’Odogwue, using the PTML as a pilot scheme, ACG Daniyan excelled and showed expertise.
His public relations is superb, and prayed that his legacy will stand the test of time. He noted that Daniyan inspires people around him, a factor he added was the reason why he had one hundred percent loyalty from his workers.
To show the importance of the event, officers from the Customs Headquarters, across the commands nationwide were on ground to celebrate with the man they all see as the most God-fearing officer they ever met.


They include DCG Adeola and her husband, DCG Omale, PhD, Mni, DCG Orbi (rtd), DCG Okun (rtd) ACG Olomu and Deputy Compt Kudaisi. Others are Comptrollers Gambo Aliyu, Nwokorie, Anani, Otunla. Also the Customs Area Controllers of Idiroko border and KLT , Afeni and Bolaji Adigun were all present to honour their retiring boss.
Former image maker of the Tin Can Island port command,distinguished Chief Supt of Customs Uche Ejesieme anchored the programme held at the prestigious Marriot Hotel Ikeja as Master of ceremony.
