

SEIZURES GALORE AT OYO/OSUN COMMAND; AS D/COMPT ADEWOLE DECLARES N14.5 BILLION REVENUE WITH N2.5 BILLION CONTRABAND IN SIX WEEKS

The Oyo/Osun Customs command today declared more than N2.531 billion seizures, with no less than N14.745 billion revenue.
Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller Moses Adewole told newsmen at a briefing that ‘this achievement reflects our commitment to blocking revenue leakages, ensuring compliance with extant laws, and facilitating trade’
He disclosed that these seizures were made at different locations across the two states through credible intelligence and coordinated patrol operations.

In accordance with their statutory mandate, the Command recorded the following seizures:
1. Foreign Parboiled Rice (50kg Each)
1,603 Bags. 2. Used Clothings 123 Bales, 18 Sacks. 3. Used Shoes 88 Sacks. 4. Used Tyres
1,351 Pieces. 5.Used Compressors 206 Pieces. 6. Indian Hemp 1,144 Wraps of Cannabis Sativa. 4 Colorado, 1 Canadian Loud, 1 Ace. 7. Vegetable Oil, 29 Plastic Bottles. 8.Tramadol (250mg)
3,300 Packs, 2,140 Sachets. 9. Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) 692 Kegs (17,300 Liters). 10. Foreign New Textiles 2,270 Packs. 11. Sugar 20 bags. 12. Used Cars (Tokunbo) 1 Lexus Jeep, 1 Toyota Corolla, 1 Toyota Hiance Bus, 1 DAF Head Truck
1 Toyota Avensis, 1 Chevrolet. 11. Means of Conveyance, 1 Toyota Highlander Jeep, 1 Mazda 626, 1 Toyota Condom, 1 Mitsibushi Canter. TOTAL DUTY PAID VALUE: ₦2,531,091,846.00K

This achievement when compared to same period last year 2025 where the Command generated the sum of ₦10.1Billion to this year ₦14.7Billion, the Command was able to make a percentage increase of 46.22%.
He warned smugglers and economic saboteurs that the Oyo/Osun Area Command will not relent in its efforts to curb illegal activities. They are fully committed to enforcing government fiscal policies and protecting the nation’s economy.
He also also wishes to appeal to members of the public to support the Nigeria Customs Service by providing timely and useful information that will aid our operations. Compliance with import and export regulations remains the best approach to avoid sanctions.

According to him, the Command remains resolute in discharging its responsibilities with professionalism, transparency, and integrity.
Finally, he express sincere appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, fnipr, psc (+), PhD and his Management Team for their unwavering support and strategic guidance.
Their appreciation also goes to the traditional rulers across both States for their continuous support in promoting lawful trade and discouraging smuggling within their domains.

He commends their critical stakeholders for their collaboration and compliance with extant regulations.
