Ejibunu, Swomen, Hadison Counsel Customs Personnel To Support C-G Adeniyi To Achieve Mandate
The current Customs administration will do everything possible to encourage and promote officers who have excelled in their various departments. Comptroller-General of the Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR said at the Customs Training School, Ikeja while giving out a BMW Bike to Chief Supt Ogboru who toured eight West African countries by Bike.
Adeniyi, represented by the Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Training College, Ikeja, Deputy Compt H Hadison said that Ms Ogboru – the lady behind the West African tour has put Nigeria and indeed the Customs Service on World map. He challenged other officers who have special interest in any discipline to showcase it for the good of the Service and Nigeria at large.
The Comptroller General also recognized, the Co-ordinator of the Border Drill, Deputy Comptroller Shuaibu with an award for his contribution in capacity building and the general training and retraining of officers at the various training Institutions in the country.
Eulogising the two awardees, the Controller of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’, Comptroller Hussein Kehinde Ejibunu, told officers at the ceremony that they must support the Comptroller General of the Service to achieve all his mandates given to him by President Bola Tinubu.
Ejibunu stated that the Comptroller General has placed so much emphasis on training and re-training of officers to be able to drive the 21st century Customs Service. According to him, the Customs CG has re-awakened the Service personnel especially on activities that have been moribund for some time, which are now improving the operations of the Service.
He warned against disclosure of official secrets, noting that some officers are in the habit of leaking circulars of Customs management. According to him, such act is punishable in line with the regulations of the Official Secrets Act, drawing their attention to the negative effect of social media evolution in the country.
Ejibunu was also special guest at the medical emergency training for operational officers same day at the training college. Medical personnel from the military hospital Lagos featured at the training session to train officers on what to do in case of violent attacks from smugglers, or any emergency health hazards.
He advised that the officers stick to the lectures delivered by the Commandant of the Customs Training College and the Cardiologist from the military hospital –Dr (major) Yusuf Oladunsu, as such lectures, if well absorbed will help to save lives during emergencies, attacks or general ill-health.
Several guests at the function including the Assistant Comptroller General and Zonal Co-ordinator for the Immigrations Service in Zone ‘A’, ACG Sadiq, Assistant Comptroller General and Zonal Co-ordinator of Zone A Customs Service, ACG Swomen, Controllers Ejibunu and Ayo in charge of FOU ‘A’ and post clearance Audit (PCA) Zone A respectively eulogized the triple H (H.H. Hadison) as having breathed life into the activities of the Customs Training College.
Sadiq said Hadison has constantly oiled the spirit of inter-agency co-operation, while Ejibunu and Ayo noted that Deputy Comptrollers Hadison and Shuaibu will go far in the Service.
