CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
CG ADENIYI: A MAN OF UNCOMMON FEATS MOUNTS THE WCO COUNCIL FOR ANOTHER ONE YEAR—COMPT ANANI
The 147th & 148th sessions of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council in Brussels, few days ago will remain indelible in the minds of many international observers, industry operators and Nigerians at large.
Our dear Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD, MFR, thrilled the world with his quality performance as Chairperson of the Council.
Taking his responsibilities in their strides, he never looked back, he throttled to full speed to achieve his objectives in the last one year.
Having performed creditably, the Organization generously renewed his tenure for another one year, after all, they say one good turn deserves another.
In line with his persona, he has strengthened the Organization with strategic policies that would usher in a new regime in trade facilitation, and digital economy, among others.
Did we expect less? No!
His competence, integrity, capacity and anti-corruption stance are some of the qualities that have taken him, thus far; in Nigeria and offshores.
A man who went to Brussels to hand over the chairmanship of the WCO, but instead, was given a one year renewal, shows humility on his part and capacity on the job.
No wonder, he dedicated the feat to the entire Nigeria Customs Service.
Better days are just ahead for Nigeria and the World Customs Organization, as Dr Adeniyi mounts the dais for another one year.
The officers and men of the Tin Can Island Customs Command, felicitate with the Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council, and our distinguished Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD, MFR, for putting Nigeria on the world map for two years running, and for all the unprecedented feats recorded in the last three years of his stewardship.
