I’M ON A FAMILIAR TERRAIN; I WILL NOT DISSAPOINT— KOLADE
By: Timothy Paul Okorocha
Brand new Area Controller of Seme/Badagry area command, Comptroller Kolade has assured that he is more than ready to confront smugglers around the border corridors to a submission so that they would engage in legitimate trade.
The anti-smuggling expert disclosed that while trade facilitation is a major plank of his mandate, he would not look the other way on the dangers posed by economic saboteurs.
In a brief chat today on the sidelines of the briefing held by the National Co-ordinator of Whirlwind Team-Compt Ejibunu, kolade said coming from the hot spot Federal Operations, zone ‘C’ Owerri, he has garnered much experience that will help him steer the ship of his new command.
‘We are ready for the job’ he deposed.
He had said recently that customs’ major mandates on anti- smuggling, revenue generation as well as trade facilitation will be vigorously pursued.
Compt kolade while taking over from Acting ACG Timi Bomodi last week had also assured he would build on the feats recorded by his predecessor.
No doubt on a familiar terrain, the new Seme/Badagry command helmsman had raked in goods worth more than N5 billion in the few months he held sway at the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘C’ Owerri.
