LEAGUE OF MARITIME EDITORS, PUBLISHERS CONGRATULATES CUSTOMS CG FOR ROBUST, FRUITFUL ONE YEAR IN OFFICE
The League of Maritime Editors and Publishers (LOME) has joined other maritime industry stakeholders in congratulating the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for a robust, fruitful one year in office.
The League described the past one year of Adeniyi’s stay in office as one that has witnessed a purposeful leadership with a lot of glaring achievements.
According to the League, the past one year of the Customs boss has been filled with improved revenue base, daring anti-smuggling campaign and an efficient trade facilitation system, adding that all these were achieved through several reforms and policies initiated by his quality leadership.
In the letter signed by the President of League, Chief Timothy Okorocha and the Secretary, Mr. Felix Kumuyi, the group which is made up of veteran maritime journalists, said Adeniyi’s leadership journey has been “characterized with so much enthusiasm, achievement vigour and of leadership per excellence notion”.
The statement said that as a body of veteran maritime journalists whose journalism practice spans over three decades in the sector, members never had any iota of doubt when Adeniyi’s appointment was announced last year that he would bring utmost capacity and professionalism to the Service, adding that the body has been proved right.
Part of the letter to reads, “ Your leadership has in the last one year improved the revenue base of the service to an unprecedented height, promoted a more daring anti-smuggling campaign and an efficient trade facilitation system, all these achieved through several reforms and policies initiated by your leadership, some of which include; a more enhanced e-customs operational system, fielding qualified operatives to man strategic formations of the service, robust collaboration with relevant government agencies and stakeholders, among others.
“We felicitate with you on the One year anniversary as you continue to bring to bear the requisite capacity and expertise to build a more professionally inclined NCS.
“We therefore, in this regard, wish you the best of more luck as you continue to steer the affairs of the service to stardom.
“Congratulations once again”.
