NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER DISBANDS JOINT BORDER PATROL TEAM
Effective, Monday December 9, all the tripartite Joint Border Patrol Team Operations will be disbanded.
This is consequent on a directive from the National Security Adviser- Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
In a terse statement endorsed by the Deputy Comptroller General of customs in charge of Enforcement, Inspections and Investigations ( E,I&I), DCG Alajogun, fsi, it said in furtherance to this, all JBPT sector Co-ordinators are to forward concise returns on nominal roll, allotted vehicles, arms and ammunition in hard and soft copy to his office.
They are also to forward returns of all seizures and detentions in hard and soft copy for the entire duration of the operation.
Alajogun stated that they will also return official vehicles to the respective Federal Operations Units in their areas of jurisdiction after the date of the disbandment and liaise with the Service Armament officer for the return of assigned arms and ammunition.
He pointed out that these instructions are for strict compliance.
The letter referenced NCS/ENF/ABJ/058/S.26/V.IV dated November 27,2024 was copied to all ACG/Zonal Co-ordinators, Area controllers, Comptrollers FOUs and Marine Commands, Comptroller CIU & CPU, Co-ordinator Operation Whirlwind as well as Heads of units.
