
The Co-ordinator of the Customs Rapid Response squad has intercepted 108 dainty cars worth millions of naira. Deputy Compt Jack Okpabi disclosed to newsmen in Abuja.
He said his men are more than ever before determined to flush out dare devil smugglers who are out to mess up the nation’s economy.
According to him , more than N400 million will be recovered by the time duties are paid on some of the vehicles, adding that some of them will be forfeited.
“We have over 108 vehicles and 38 of this vehicles have been forfeited to the Federal government, and also for my own preliminary inspection and investigation, government is going to recover over N400 million for Hilux that was arrested, because they are 60 units and we can see also habitual criminals who do nothing but just destroy the economy of this country”.

This 28 Buffalo with street value of over N1.5 billion was smuggled in and we did our best, despite all the frustration, we manage to bring them to the warehouse here, as you can see.
The Co-ordinator also use the opportunity to call on the sisters Agencies and the public to continue collaborating with the Unit to achieve their objectives of curbing smuggling to the barest minimum.
“ So we still plead with them and beg them,with all diligence, to assist us, collaborate with us so that we can make this job very easy”.
